The Paint Correction Process

Wash and Decontamination

The car gets a full wash followed by an iron fallout treatment and clay bar across all painted surfaces. This pulls bonded contamination out of the clear coat so the polishing stages work on paint defects, not dirt sitting on top of them.

Paint Depth Assessment

Cameron measures the clear coat thickness across every panel using a paint depth gauge. This tells us exactly how much safe correction is possible on each panel and prevents cut-through on thin areas.

Machine Polishing

This is where the correction happens. A dual-action or rotary polisher is used with the appropriate compound for your paint condition. Each panel is worked in sections under dedicated lighting so every swirl, scratch, and dull spot is tracked and removed.

Refining and Finishing

A single-stage correction on a standard sedan typically takes four to six hours. A two-stage or multi-stage correction on a larger vehicle like a ute or SUV can take a full day or across two sessions. Cameron will give you an accurate time estimate when you book.
The correction itself is permanent in the sense that the defects are physically removed from the clear coat. How long your paint stays in good condition after that depends on how you look after it. Applying a ceramic coating or paint sealant immediately after correction significantly extends the results.
Avoid automatic car washes entirely as they re-introduce swirl marks fast. Hand washing with a proper two-bucket method or a touchless wash is the right approach. A maintenance spray wax or ceramic maintenance spray every few months keeps the finish protected between details.
