Why Paint Correction Matters in Rochester

The roads around Rochester, Echuca, and Bendigo are rough on paint. Dust, gravel, harsh UV, and car wash swirls build up over time. What you end up with is a car that looks dull, scratched, and faded even after a wash.

Paint correction physically removes that damage from the clear coat. It is not a cover-up. When the work is done, the reflections come back, the depth returns, and your car looks the way it did before years of driving took their toll.

Beyond looks, corrected paint holds ceramic coatings and paint protection far better than damaged clear coat. If you are planning to coat your car or sell it, correction first means better results and a stronger return on your money.

The Paint Correction Process

1

Wash and Decontamination

The car gets a full wash followed by an iron fallout treatment and clay bar across all painted surfaces. This pulls bonded contamination out of the clear coat so the polishing stages work on paint defects, not dirt sitting on top of them.

45 to 90 minutes
2

Paint Depth Assessment

Cameron measures the clear coat thickness across every panel using a paint depth gauge. This tells us exactly how much safe correction is possible on each panel and prevents cut-through on thin areas.

15 to 30 minutes
3

Machine Polishing

This is where the correction happens. A dual-action or rotary polisher is used with the appropriate compound for your paint condition. Each panel is worked in sections under dedicated lighting so every swirl, scratch, and dull spot is tracked and removed.

2 to 6 hours depending on tier and vehicle size
4

Refining and Finishing

After the correction stages, a finer polish is used to remove any haze left by the cutting compound and bring the gloss up to its highest possible level. This step is what separates a properly corrected car from one that just looks shinier.

1 to 2 hours
5

Final Inspection and Panel Wipe

Every panel is wiped down with a panel prep solution to remove polish oils and residue. The car is then inspected under multiple lighting types including direct sun and spotlights. Any missed spots are addressed before the job is called done.

Paint Correction FAQ

CK Auto Styling offers three tiers of paint correction to suit different budgets and levels of paint damage. Pricing varies based on vehicle size, paint condition, and the number of correction stages required. Get in touch for a free quote based on your specific car.
A single-stage correction on a standard sedan typically takes four to six hours. A two-stage or multi-stage correction on a larger vehicle like a ute or SUV can take a full day or across two sessions. Cameron will give you an accurate time estimate when you book.
The correction itself is permanent in the sense that the defects are physically removed from the clear coat. How long your paint stays in good condition after that depends on how you look after it. Applying a ceramic coating or paint sealant immediately after correction significantly extends the results.
Avoid automatic car washes entirely as they re-introduce swirl marks fast. Hand washing with a proper two-bucket method or a touchless wash is the right approach. A maintenance spray wax or ceramic maintenance spray every few months keeps the finish protected between details.
CK Auto Styling stands behind the quality of every correction job. If you have any concerns about the finish after your appointment, contact Cameron directly and it will be sorted. Note that warranties on the correction result do not cover new damage caused by incorrect washing or post-service neglect.
A cut and polish from a tyre shop or detailer using a random orbital and a one-size-fits-all compound will improve the look of the paint but rarely removes defects properly. Machine paint correction uses the right pads, compounds, and technique matched to your specific paint type and condition. The results are significantly more thorough and last longer.
Scratches that sit within the clear coat can be removed fully or significantly reduced. Scratches that have cut through to the base coat or primer cannot be buffed out and may need spot paint repair before correction. Cameron will assess your paint before starting and be upfront about what is achievable.
